Platinum STEM School
Bonneville is proud to be the only school in Tooele County to earn the prestigious Platinum STEM Designation—the highest level awarded by the STEM Action Center. This honor is not easily achieved; it requires a rigorous evaluation process and demonstrates that our school fully integrates STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) into every level of learning. With multiple tiers—Bronze, Gold, and Platinum—only a select few schools reach the top, and Bonneville is proud to lead the way. This recognition sets us apart as a trailblazer in STEM education in our region.
Bonneville Academy is a K-8 tuition-free public charter school located in Stansbury Park, Utah.
Bonneville Academy will foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a challenging, student-centered environment. By encouraging exploration in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), we prepare students for success in our ever-changing dynamic world.
Bonneville Academy was named for the Lake Bonneville, which covered a majority of Utah 32,000 to 16,800 years ago and literally shaped the topography of western Utah. This ancient freshwater sea left an unmistakable geological signature in Tooele County. The remnants of Lake Bonneville, including the Great Salt Lake and the Bonneville Salt Flats, continue to contribute to STEM-related fields of study.
Exploration and experimentation will teach students about the many facets of science and how it relates to the world we live in.
The global economy of tomorrow demands students who have a strong understanding of the engineering design process.

Our Mascot is a Mariner, represented by the sea turtle, one who navigates these scientific treasure troves, preparing for the waves of tomorrow. Our logo is a compass with four directional points symbolizing the four STEM areas.
